Product Recall Information
This notice concerns a potential safety risk involving the certain hooded sweatshirts with drawstrings sold under our Cumberland Outfitters® label. The hooded sweatshirts are depicted below. The sweatshirts were sold in children’s sizes XS, S, M, or L in a variety of colors.
The drawstring through the hood poses a strangulation hazard to children. The Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued guidelines to help prevent children from strangling or getting entangled on the neck and waist by drawstrings in upper garments, such as jackets and sweatshirts. You can click on the following link to see these guidelines:

If you or anyone you know has any of these products, please immediately either remove the drawstrings or return the products to Ely and Walker for a refund.
Do not allow anyone to wear any of the products unless you first remove the drawstring.

Although no report of any injury has been received regarding the sweatshirts depicted above, in general sweatshirts with drawstrings in excess of 3” in length can pose a strangulation hazard. These drawstrings can catch on a playground slide or even on a school bus handrail. Between January 1985 and January 1999, the Consumer Product Safety Commission received reports of 22 deaths and 48 non-fatal incidents involving the entanglement of children’s clothing drawstrings.
The sweatshirts being recalled have RN number 14119 and one of the following style numbers printed on the care label on the left side seam of the garment:
Style #561560EC
Style #561565CO
Style #561570RA
Style #561575TU
